Suspension is the general term for all force-transmitting connection devices between the car's frame and axles or wheels. The main function of the suspension is to transmit all forces and moments acting between the wheels and the body, such as support force, braking force and Driving force, etc., and alleviate the impact load transmitted to the vehicle body from uneven road surfaces, attenuate the resulting vibration, ensure the comfort of the occupants, and reduce the dynamic load of the cargo and the vehicle itself.
Generally speaking, Truck suspension front hanger water glass investment casting mainly plays the role of force transmission, guidance and buffering, affecting the vehicle's handling stability and smoothness. According to the connection method between the left and right wheels and the axle, the suspension can be divided into independent suspension and non-independent suspension. Since the non-independent suspension system has the advantages of simple structure, low cost, high strength, easy maintenance, and small change in front wheel positioning during driving, non-independent suspension systems are often used on medium and heavy trucks. There are three main types of non-independent suspension structures: leaf spring suspension, rubber suspension and air suspension.
At present, in terms of front axle suspension, due to price reasons, rubber suspension, air suspension and independent suspension introduced by a very few manufacturers (mostly seen by foreign companies and mentioned in domestic academic journals) are less used, while leaf spring suspension is used less frequently. It is a mainstream structure and has been used for many years. Steel plate suspensions can be divided into multi-leaf springs and few-leaf springs. The single-leaf spring mentioned above belongs to the small-leaf spring category, but the few-leaf springs equipped with domestic front axle suspensions are mainly two-leaf springs and three-leaf springs. The so-called single leaf spring is a leaf spring mounted on the suspension. In theory, this structure has the advantages of lighter weight and no inter-leaf friction compared to other few-leaf springs and multi-leaf springs.
Since single-leaf springs have so many advantages, why didn't mainstream domestic car companies such as Dongfeng Commercial Vehicles, FAW Jiefang, Sinotruk, Foton, etc. launch single-leaf springs early? The reasons for this, I think, are roughly as follows: First, there is a lack of experience in the design and manufacturing of single leaf springs, and it is currently difficult to mass-produce single leaf spring suspensions with good performance; second, based on reliability considerations, once the truck is on the road During operation, when a certain leaf spring fails and breaks, the suspension equipped with two leaf springs and three leaf springs on the front axle can effectively prevent the cab from collapsing downward due to the breakage of the leaf spring, further posing hidden dangers to the driver's safety. In this regard, using two or three leaf spring suspensions is safer.
